Working
Annual Membership – $512
Members who are classified as “working” are required to contribute 20 hours each year to support OCA operations. Additional family riders residing in the same household, they may be added to the working member’s membership at no extra charge. However, their total annual hour requirement increases to 30 hours per season.
Throughout the season, working members must reach pre-defined hourly milestones to demonstrate a commitment to OCA’s success. If a working member fails to meet the designated hour milestones, their “working” status will be revoked, and their membership will be converted to “non-working” status. They will then be required to pay an additional balance of $500 to maintain their membership for that season. In addition to this, their ability to apply for a working membership will be suspended for 5 years.
Each year, working members in good standing will receive a private invitation to renew their membership. The working membership renewal period is from December 15 to January 31.
What you need to know
Being a Member at OCA
WORKING VS. NON-WORKING MEMBERSHIPS
The OCA by-laws limit the total number of working members to 100 at any given time. To become a working member, you need to attend a club meeting and have a current member vouch for your character. The members present at the meeting must then have a majority vote to confirm your membership. If you don’t know a current member, you can still become a working member by scheduling a meeting with the Board of Directors. They will conduct a personal interview and make a decision based on that.
Non-working memberships can be purchased year-round without any caps.
All memberships purchased are valid for a calendar year (January 1 to December 31), regardless of the purchase date. Our access to water from Weber Basin is available from April 15th through October 15th. During the off-season, there may be rough conditions, and without water, it can get dusty. As responsible members, we ask you to use your own discretion when using the track during the off-season. If the track is too rough or dusty to ride, then we kindly request that you do not ride during those times. We must act respectfully towards our neighbors.
OCA CLUB MEETINGS
Club meetings usually take place on the third Tuesday of every month at 7 pm, and the venue is the Roy City Library. In case of any scheduling conflicts, we’ll post the new date of the meeting in advance. If you’re a working member, it’s mandatory to attend at least half of the annual meetings to maintain your good standing. During these meetings, all club business is discussed and voted upon, giving you a chance to have your voice heard. Any proposed changes to the club’s by-laws are also discussed and voted on during these meetings. If you’re interested in becoming a member, please make it a point to attend one of our monthly club meetings. These meetings provide you with an opportunity to understand how the club operates and ask questions about joining.
GUEST PASSES
All guests must be accompanied by their sponsoring OCA member at all times while on club property. It is not acceptable for an OCA member to leave their guests at the facility alone for any amount of time. The sponsoring member must ensure guests obey all track rules and will be solely responsible for their guests’ actions while using the track and facilities.
